Youtube Hong Kong

Youtube has just unleashed a new country's site, guess which one.....of course Hong Kong. Over the past few months, Steve Chen, one of the founders of Youtube has been monitoring uploaders based in Hong Kong. He claims that Hong Kong citizens have a talent for music videos and other things. Several Hong Kong users have also complained to Google that they don't have a Youtube site in chinese so they always click the wrong buttons when uploading and watching. One of the ever so popular videos is the MTR Song as seen below.

A very famous song in Hong Kong about Mass Transit Railway based on the song "Do-Re-Mi, Sound of Music".

With all the talk about china and how the government monitors and limits user content, do you think this will be a problem with youtube? Seems to me that china isn't a country that's ready for the kind of freedom that youtube allows. Food for thought anyway..

Hmm.....thanks for the comment Shilton. Well, Hong Kong isn't really part of China (in terms of government and other things). Unlike China, Hong Kong is very free, any religion, website (except child pornography) can be used, but, Hong Kong still has strict laws, not with online browsing but with vehicle emissions :P

--CHINA--
As you know, many news sources say that China is very strict with content. Youtube is partly banned in Mainland China since they don't want anybody to upload videos giving people a bad impression of China. Let's just say China is a fast growing market and doesn't want anybody harming its growth. Like with SARS, China wanted to keep it a secret.

Wow- I had no idea that there were different laws practiced in different parts of china- how naive of me, china is a big place. In response to your comment: yes, I'm a masshole ;)I can't wait for the sox to kick ass!

the video is awesome, you have a layout very common you should make or change your layout.. and the color, I liked the buttons on the right side, you should put links on the right side so you increase the page rank...
